For the most part, the only notable differences in these categories are their locations, as Deluxe Casitas are positioned deeper in the jungle, Signature Casitas are located on the canal, and Beach Area Deluxe Casitas and Beach FrontCasitas score positions by the beach (though farther from other resort features).Īll rooms have mini-fridges that can be stocked on request, large flat-screen TVs with cable channels, and furnished terraces. Casitas are spacious and consist of one main room and a large bathroom, while suites are nearly double the size and have a large living area. The hotel's prized casitas and suites have a similar look. Teal or coral accent walls are cheerful additions. These rooms are large, with big windows to let in natural light and sparse decor that doesn't quite hit the mark for a luxury hotel - think attractive wooden furniture, beige marble floors, and linens in orange and fuchsia. Entry-level Fairmont Rooms are in the Bamboo tower building within close proximity to the main lobby, but they're the farthest from the beach. The location was great, the employees could speak english unlike most other 5 star hotels.Fairmont Mayakoba has 401 guest rooms with a heavy focus on casitas. Breakfast was only okay, far from international Fairmont standard! The food was stale, dry and didn't have much taste. City view was looking straight at another person's window. The Suite was nice, the other King Fairmont room reminded me of a mediocre sized room in London.
After 50 mins of waiting to get checked in, I went down to the Manager and he was the one that got me checked in immediately although the person at the reception claimed that there were no rooms at all! Service by the receptionist was UNACCEPTABLE esp when you are spending more than double here than any other 5 star hotel. It was worse because I was traveling with my mother and father (both heart patients) and my mom was suffering from high fever.
The check-in was FRUSTRATING as anything! I met the receptionist and it took me 1 hour to get checked in becuase he said there were no rooms left. The check-in counters for the suite was different for that of the room. 1 Two-bedroom harem view suite and a King Fairmont Room.
